Re-filming

We managed to sort out a day where we were all free and so i met up with Abde and we both went to Ada'z house! We did sort of mess around but we managed to get what we needed to done and while doing that had such a laugh especially with abde! We worked hard and now finally have finished filming!! woohooo! that's the fun bit over now the REAL hard work!! making it look and sound good!

Editing

After filming the first time at Ada'z house the following lesson we were editing! We went through the clips and realised some of the parts needed re-filming. What the problem was, it was the fact that some of the scenes were acted to quick and didn't match the other parts that it was connected to, for example there was suppose to be a match-cut of Ada gong to the kitchen and opening the kitchen door............ that part; she acted to quick and so it didn't look good on the screen...

So we decided to write down what needed to be re-filmed but we couldn't actually decide what day to film on because we were so busy!!!

Second Filming!!

On our second time on the filiming we were filming the part where the male character is on his way home to his wife! We were filminh next to Angel station, and we litrally did the filming in less than an hour! there wasn't really much to film!

Again we changed a few ideas from the original plan because we thought what we had come up with at that moment was better. we had mini arguments about how we shood have shot a few of the scenes bu t we managed to over come them. We also had extra help... by shahmin.. You guys have probably cheked out the slide show Ada had created that was our day while filming near the station.

So we finally finished filming !! I think we worked hard and got all the filming out of the way. It's all about editing now, and adding sound!

Overall, I think the shoot went well. We were quick but the quality was still good, and of course we redid shots 100 times to get it right. I enjoyed filming more than acting, it's not my thing... We also thought about our thriller and decided to take some bits out that won't work and I think we worked well as a group today. Here's another quick movie I made with pictures and music:

I also started thinking about fonts we could use for our movie, I went to www.dafont.com and had a look at examples. Here's a few I liked.

Well... I can't say we have a ROUGH CUT, I'd say we have a ROUGH, ROUGH, ROUGH CUT !! :) We have the foundation of the editing, we will take bits out what we'll soon redo, we placed them there just to see what it will look like and I must say that I was suprised that it actually all makes sense. While watching I could tell what's happening and I was really pround of that. I think I got that feeling because we filmed parts of it seperately, and it wasn'r continious. So it was good to see it this way.

We'll soon have to redo some of the parts, we've written down everything we need to redo and how to do it..so I'm looking forward to film, it will be our last filming for AS Media :'(     (at least I think so).

While editing, we learned how to do a split screen. I know that you have to resize the image to the size you want it and place it wherever you want, but we went with the simple one where both shots are next to each other in about the same size as it looks more professional.

First part of the filming!

Right! Theres a slide show on this blog that shows a few pictures of the shooting going on in Ada's house! we managed to get really good shots, and it took us four long hours and intense filming to come out with those good shots! we tried a few ways of filming in different ways! For example Abde used a computer chair with wheels and put the camera on top of it! creative idea, but didn't really work!!

Even though we had a plan of the script we kind of changed a few ideas and put some better ideas into it!

filming- part two

This lesson, we finished filming the scene in Angel and it went well, we didn't plan the shots to be honest but we knew what will happen in the scene, so we thought of the shots as we went along and it seems like they came out alright and natural.

Soon, we'll film over some shots in the kitchen and improve them. I now got into the habit of filming, I really enjoy it althought it sometimes can be hard to hear all people's ideas and decide what to go for, we sometimes have little "missunderstandings" but we'll always work it out. I also got into habit of working with my group, and it seems like everyone has a role there.

Ok, so we started editing and we got first 40sec done! After watching all the clips, we noticed that in some clips we didn't think of Mise en Scene so we have to redo some of it and impove other ones, so we still have some work to do.

We've talked about our titles as they will apear in special way, and digetic music.

I noticed, that this time while editing we spend more time on one bit, carefully trying to join it together and not making the same mistakes we did when practising. We watched the clip many times and every time changed something, so we'll can be happy and pround of out outcome!

The Pitch

This is really late!

Right! The pitch is where me and my group had to to present to my teacher and my peers of how exactly we're going to shoot this film and where abouts! We presented a quick summary of the plot of our story, then the where abouts of the filming, and the risks of the props that we may be using! Also the audience and obviously the title of our thriller! Theres a slide show of our pitch... check it out!

First lesson back after half term

In the lesson back from the half term me and the guys should have had that lesson planned in what we were going to do. Me and ada decided to go out and film the rest of the scenes that we had planned, but we had to wait for abde... who as usual took his time coming in! So because he came late we didn't bother going out to film and also he wasn't in the right costume for us to film!

So we decided to check out the scenes we had filmed in Ada's kitchen. We realised some of the scenes we had shot were to fast and didn't match the clips. So we wrote down what needed to be filmed again, and currently we are still trying to fix a date to re film it!
